Where do I put my coffee maker??

I love it when I get questions because it helps me with blog content which, is not necessarily my strength. So this was the question this week. Where do I put my bulky, ugly but ever so important coffee maker?

There are two solutions to housing a coffee maker that we love - one is putting in an appliance garage and another is having a Morning to Night bar.

Appliance Garage

An appliance garage is a cabinet space with easy access and electrical outlets, where you can store your appliance that you use on a regular basis and you never even have to pull them out of the cabinet! They can house coffee makers, toasters, blenders or any other appliance you don’t want to see sitting on your kitchen counter.

For instance, if you push where this arrow is pointing, the cabinet raises up and behind it is the clients coffee maker, mugs, sweeteners, stirrers, coffee grinder etc. It all has easy access and stays contained right here. When they are done with their coffee in the morning, they close the cabinet. Keeps everything nice and hidden while be convenient and easily accessible.

Morning to Night Bar

This space is built out to give clients a spot for all their beverage making needs from morning time coffee to evening cocktails.  These spaces usually include a small fridge to keep cream, limes or any other item you want to chill for beverage prepping as well as an ice maker and a sink.

In the photo above, the Morning to Night bar is the area with the blue back splash. The client keeps her spirits, her coffee maker, her fancy drink glasses and all things drink related in this area and also uses it as a serving station while socializing. It’s a great use of space and it frees up the rest of your kitchen for other things.

If you don’t have an appliance garage or a spot for a Morning to Night bar, put your coffee maker in a non focal point of your kitchen. Look for an obscure spot in your kitchen where you can tuck it away but still keep all the goodies that go along with it, near by like in a drawer underneath where you set it. If you WANT an appliance garage or a Morning to Night bar - and your kitchen needs renovating, give us a call and let us design one for you!

Till next time!
